What's to see and do
The museum is home to over 90 buses. Midland Red, WMPTE blue and cream and the corporation fleets from Birmingham, Walsall, West Bromwich and Wolverhampton are all represented, plus independent operators such as Harper Brothers, Soudley Valley and Blue Bus of Willington. Click here for a complete list of our bus exhibits
We are also home to the largest collection of battery electric road vehicles, including over 30 electric milk floats and bread vans from operators such as the Co-op, Midland Counties and Birmingham and Handsworth Dairies. Click here for a complete list of our battery electric exhibits
THE POWER HALL is our main display hall with an introductory video film and interpretative displays showing the development of public transport during the 20th century. Some of our rarer vehicles are on display here with explanatory information boards.
THE SHIRE HALL, which has been recently extended, is home to more buses and our engineering area. On most weekends you'll find volunteers working on restoration or maintenance in this hall and one or more buses undergoing a repaint in the far corner well away from any dust
THE SCANIA HALL contains the Battery Electric display area and more buses.
THE CAFE is open from 12 noon to 3.30pm at weekends and 1pm to 3.30pm on Wednesdays during June, July and August. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, soft drinks, biscuits, crisps and chocolate snacks are always available. On event days, the cafe is open from 11am to 5pm and freshly prepared sandwiches and homemade cakes are also available.
OUR SHOP is open from Easter Sunday onwards, from 12 noon to 3.30pm at weekends and 1pm to 3.30pm on Wednesdays during June, July and August. We have gifts and toys for the kids and an ever changing, massive selection of books, models, timetables and other goods, both new and second-hand. On event days, the shop is open from 11am to 5pm. BUS RIDES are available all day on our event days. During August, on Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday, a circular tour on a classic bus runs at 2:30pm.
For KIDS AND FAMILIES, we have a family ticket we have and our 'Kids Kabin' area has a selection of toys and activity sheets. There are also a number of interactive exhibits in the Power Hall. On the first Saturday each month we run the Wythall Junior Club where kids between 8 and 16 years can get involved in the museum.
