 Walsall Corporation XDH 516 G

XDH 516 G Daimler Fleetline CRG6LX with Northern Counties body

Reg No: XDH 516 G
Chassis: Daimler Fleetline CRG6
Engine: Gardner 6LX
Body: Northern Counties DD

Built in 1968, 116 was one of the final batch of buses delivered to Walsall Corporation before the WMPTE take-over. The specially shortened chassis was a feature of all Walsall Fleetlines and the body style was perculiar to Walsall and a small batch bulit for SHMD.

116 was retained by the PTE and restored (albeit in WMPTE livery) by apprentices at Tyburn Road Works. It was the last former Walsall bus to be withdrawn by the PTE and after arriving at Wythall was eventually restored to original Walsall livery, including the replacement of all window rubbers with the correct white rubber.
