Omnibus 148 - October 2002

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting of BaMMOT was held at the Museum on the afternoon of Saturday 3 August 2002. Copies of relevant documents will be circulated to members in due course, hence the brevity of this report.

First, Dave Taylor presented the Trustee’s Annual Report. Then Paul Gray presented the Finance Report, which was followed by a discussion on monetary matters. Phil Ireland then outlined the Trustee’s plans for site development, and Malcolm Keeley explained his new role looking after Collections and Commercial matters.

There was then a general discussion on matters arising. This included members’ thoughts on celebrating the Midland Red centenary in 2004, and how to increase membership, or more particularly, how to encourage greater participation.

There was also concern about lack of progress in completing the restoration of the SOS ‘SON’. Subsequent to the meeting, this vehicle has been given a thorough examination by an experienced PSV engineer, and the Trustees are now deliberating on his report.

Also, after the formal meeting, there was a fruitful discussion between interested members about progressing the recording of the Museum’s archive materials and small exhibits.
