KON311P - Leyland Fleetline/MCW - West Midlands PTE 6311
During the early months of 2009 all of the windows were removed and preparation work started on the paintwork in readiness for a full repaint. A small number of lower panes were replaced and the opportunity was taken to replace a number of interior seats, and repaint the cab area. 6311 then received a full repaint, and the windows were refitted using new window rubber. The underside was also treated to a silver spray!
On the mechanical side, the water pump was sent away to a company in Wolverhampton, identified by Jeremy Price, for overhaul. Mark Priest then oversaw replacing the pump, and main drive damper, which was the cause of vibration within the timing chain at certain engine revs. The bus was then prepared for a Class VI Test, which resulted in a successful pass in mid-May. 6311 was launched re-restored at the Two Museums Day at the end of May.
SDA757S - Leyland Fleetline/East Lancs - West Midlands PTE 6757
6757 has received a full cab repaint over the winter months, which has allowed the original style interior transfers to be applied. The Autofare 1 ticket equipment has also been fully overhauled and is now operational. 6757 was taxed in time for the Two Museum's Day event, where it was used on the car park shuttle service.
WDA835T - MCW Metrobus Mk1 - West Midlands PTE 6835
Work has now started to pick up on 6835, with Peter Murphy having now re-fabricated and fitted all the main gusset sections within the inter-deck framing. This will allow the exterior inter-deck panels to be refitted in due course, once the interior panels have been refixed. On the lower section, the two main centre stress panels have now been completely replaced, and work is now centred on the nearside wheelarch area. It is hoped the nearside will be completed by the October WMPTE 40th event.
NHR156M - Daimler Fleetline CRG6LX chassis - Swindon 156
Meanwhile, the outdoor display of the ex-Swindon chassis has caused weathering so the whole chassis is being repainted, and when not raining the remaining body sections will be repainted blue.
