WANTED! - MARKETING EXPERTISE
The failure by the major local newspaper group to print our advertisements twice this year is a great source of concern. Fortunately we also have our leaflets, website and the enthusiast press. Nevertheless, it appears that we may need to spread our advertising more widely across smaller circulations, which will be time consuming and possibly costly. And we must get better results from the press releases, designed to get us free coverage, produced before each event day and sent to all the media, including television and radio.
Volunteer organisations benefit from the skills of their volunteers. We do very well in so many respects but marketing remains a weak area. It is being carried out by people who do their best but are aware they lack that strange ability to conjure something out of nothing and go forth to grab media attention. We have lots of members we never meet and we do not know what your skills are. If your speciality is marketing and, up to now, you thought you couldn't help - well, you can. Please get in touch!
