WUMPTY Twenty
In October BaMMOT played host to yet another successful event, which marked twenty years since deregulation in the West Midlands.
Due to building work at the Museum, space was limited. However, our neighbours Resolution (formerly Britannic Assurance) provided us with ample space to accommodate visiting buses and a car park. The extra space provided by Resolution allowed us to line up all the WMPTE blue and cream vehicles that were able to drive to the site. The superb grounds surrounding the Resolution main building provided an excellent backdrop for photographers.
Three free bus services linking the Resolution site with The Maypole, Wythall Station and West Heath were in operation. Thanks must be expressed to visiting private owners for their assistance with operating on the free bus services. These operated alongside the Museum's usual registered bus routes.
On the main Museum site the 24th Birmingham 1st Sparkhill Scout Group stood in to bridge the catering gap, while the café is under refurbishment.
The event was supported by nearly thirty visiting vehicles and fifteen stallholders.
Buses used on the free services were as follows:-
KON311P, KFM775, 802MHW, JOJ976, SDA757S, NOB413M, JOV613P, XDH516G, TVP898S, WDA956T, NOV796G, WDA4T, UHA981H, CVP207, JOV738P, D553AOP, WDA971T, BOM7V, DOC41V, YOK133K, XOV41J.
