BERNARD MINTON
It is with regret that we report the death of Bernard Minton. He passed away on Tuesday, 29 January 2002, aged 69 years.
Bernard’s interests encompassed many aspects of transport at home and abroad, not least tramway, trolleybus and motorbus operators.
He had helped and supported the museum for many years and several of his letters have been published in past issues of this magazine.
Bernard’s broad interest in transport and related matters can, perhaps, best be emphasised by his actions after the Trust began to expand its range of exhibits, from 1986, by inclusion of battery-electric vehicles. Not only did he offer us encouragement, he also provided news of any fleet developments he noted and set off with his camera to record some of these vehicles on film, in various parts of the UK. The resulting prints were all deposited in our photo archive.
Bernard had many friends, inside and out of transport, and will be dearly missed. We extend our sympathies to his family and friends.
