Ticket to Ride at The Transport Museum, Wythall
The Transport Museum, Wythall is once again revving up for the Bank Holiday Weekend as it prepares to welcome more visitors to its Chapel Lane site.
Sunday 28th August is an Operating Day when visitors of all ages will be able to take a trip into the surrounding countryside on classic buses, beautifully restored to their original glory. Bank Holiday Monday 29th August is the BIG Operating Day when the Museum will run as many different buses as possible for the enjoyment of visitors.
And on both days, the Elmdon Model Engineering Society will be offering rides around the grounds on the delightful miniature steam railway. As well as the Museum's collection of around 100 buses, coaches, and battery electric vehicles from all over the Midlands and beyond, there will be plenty of transport memorabilia and displays.
"Our 25th Anniversary year has been tremendous with visitors flocking to our events throughout the season. Interest in our unusual collection is growing and we are delighted to be able to offer visitors the experience of riding on these classic buses" says Malcolm Keeley, Collections Manager and a Trustee of the Museum." Our Operating Days bring back the sounds and atmosphere of public transport from years gone by for everyone to enjoy"
