News Release - 3rd April 2006
Easter Eggstravaganza at The Transport Museum, Wythall
2006 looks set to be another busy year for The Transport Museum, Wythall as building work is due to commence in June on an additional display hall thanks to Heritage Lottery Funding awarded last year.
Meanwhile, preparations are being made for the start of the 2006 season at the Museum in Chapel Lane, Wythall, North Worcestershire when it re-opens to the public on Easter Sunday & Easter Monday, 16th/17th April with its Easter Eggstravaganza event.
The event offers visitors eggscursions into the countryside on classic buses and a chance to see one of the largest collections of preserved buses and coaches in the UK. In addition, the Elmdon Model Engineering Society will be offering rides around the grounds on the delightful miniature steam railway. And there's also a little treat when visitors shell out at the museum entrance.
"It's been a long, cold winter so we're looking forward to a breath of fresh Spring air" says Malcolm Keeley, Collections Manager and a Trustee of the Museum. "Visitors riding our classic buses will get an excellent view of the world blossoming back to life".
The Museum is open to the public every weekend from Easter to the end of October from 11am until 4.30pm with special events planned for Bank Holiday weekends until the end of May.
