Kids and Families

Take the kids out for a day in the countryside. On our event days they'll just love riding on the miniature steam railway and the old buses. On sunny days, you can enjoy a picnic on the grass.

The 'Kids Kabin' area is just outside the cafe, perfect to occupy the younger kids while you enjoy a cup of tea. Inside the kabin you'll find all sorts of play things including a wooden railway, colouring and activity sheets, toys and building bricks.

At the back of the Kabin, kids can sit and play in the cab of the milk float, a good photo opportunity too!

The Power Hall also has several interactive exhibits, including a bus cab with authentic sounds, steering wheel and destination blind.

Wythall Juniors Club:

On the first Saturday every month, kids from 8-16 years can meet up and get involved in the museum. We've got lots of activities planned, including cleaning a bus and learning about how things work. There's a goody bag for each new member and maybe even a trip round the block in one of the museum's buses.

The club is run by Sara Gray, who works at a local nursery school. Her own son Joshua is also a bus fan.

The club costs £2 per month and is open between 11am and 1pm, just enough time for Mom and Dad to have a quick look round or nip round to Becketts farm shop and restaurant for a bit of shopping and a cuppa.

On your first visit we'll need to get some details about you for our records and we'll give you a safety talk and a look round the museum, including the bits you normally don't get to see.

All you have to do is turn up at 11am with a parent or guardian to sign the forms.
