 Major Operating Days

You are welcome any weekend from March until the end of November but, on the following dates, you can see and ride the classic buses and little steam trains. New this year are buses operating on all Wednesdays and Saturdays between May and August. See separate page for full list of classic bus times and the Birmingham City Centre Service.

Please note that heritage buses were not designed to be disability accessible, wherever possible our staff will provide advice and assistance.

Visiting buses are warmly welcomed but note that our insurance requires them to be entered in advance.

All operating & event days feature:

  • Classic Bus Rides
  • Fuller Access to the Shire Conservation Workshop (where we restore our vehicles)
  • Light refreshments in the Cafeteria
  • Transport books and memorabilia in the Gift Shop
  • Miniature Steam Railway

Of particular appeal to families is the delightful miniature steam railway, constructed and operated by the Elmdon Model Engineering Society, demonstrating the finest examples of model engineering on three track gauges.
