NARTM display

All event days feature classic bus rides and usually we have visiting vehicles and additional sales stands selling memorabilia, models and photographs.

Of particular appeal to families is the delightful 'ride-on' miniature steam railway, constructed and operated by the Elmdon Model Engineering Society, demonstrating the finest examples of model engineering on three track gauges.

Details of classic bus times and the 750 service from Birmingham are available by clicking here.

Please note that heritage buses were not designed to be disability accessible, wherever possible our staff will provide advice and assistance.

Visiting buses are warmly welcomed but note that our insurance requires them to be entered in advance. Only NARTM entered buses can be accommodated within the museum on 27 August, similarly only former Midland Red buses on 14 October. Off-site parking will be available.

On Event Days, we are open from 10:30am to 5:00pm (last admissions 4:30pm)

AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY

MONDAY 27th AUGUST - THE BIG BUS BIRTHDAY PARTY

On this day, a special treat as we are delighted to host the 30th birthday of the National Association of Road Transport Museums - buses from all over the country will provide a dazzling display with chances to grab a ride on one or two!.

Glorious weather or not, we'll run as many buses as we can for your enjoyment, alongside usual attractions including the miniature steam trains.

STILL TO COME.... THE BIG ONE
MIDLAND RED DAY

SUNDAY 14th OCTOBER - At last the day Midland Red fans have been waiting for since we celebrated the company's centenary in 2004-5. Famously Midland Red abandoned its unreliable motorbuses in 1907 and reverted to horses until 1912. Today we celebrate the centenary of the motorbuses' successful reintroduction. Lots of opportunities for bus rides but you don't have to be a Midland Red fan to enjoy the day - other types will be running too.

Visiting buses are very welcome on any day but please note our insurance requires them to be entered in advance. Only NARTM entered buses can be accommodated within the museum on 27 August, similarly only former Midland Red buses on 14 October. Off-site parking will be available.
